Step-By-Step Procedure to Make a Painting

Step 1: Open your crafting menu:

If it needs crafting, you must always open the crafting menu in Minecraft! So, please do the same in this case, too, as we will be crafting a painting. Once you open the crafting menu, you will see a grid as in the image below.

Step 2: Add wool and sticks (requirements) to the crafting menu:

Add wool and sticks (requirements) to the crafting menu

Now, to make a painting in the game, you must have the material requirements fulfilled. Add the 8 sticks and 1 Wool into the crafting grid. Keep in mind. You must follow a fixed pattern to get the output in the form of painting.

Place all the eight sticks one by one in each box and keep the middlebox empty. In the middlebox, place the Wool. This is the crafting recipe of painting in Minecraft.

Step 3: Move the painting to your inventory:

After the painting appears on the right-hand side of the crafting grid, you can then drag the painting to your inventory by simply the following drag and drop action. Simple as that, now you have the Minecraft painting that you can hang on the walls of your mansion and decorate the desired areas inside the game.

As we saw earlier, there are 26 paintings in the game. Each painting has a unique image and differs in size. When we place a painting on any wall in the game, the game automatically checks for the space available and displays the painting that fits well in that area.

How to Create a Secret Passage in Minecraft Using a Painting?

Sadly, the game being a decade old, pretty much everyone knows this trick, but if you want to fool your little brother, this trick can be used.

To make a secret passage, all you need is a painting of two signs and a wall. The wall will have a passage.

First, create a 1×2 or 2×2 hole inside a wall. Then place the signs on either two sides of the blocks. Now, place the painting on these two signs. However, in the beginning, it might take you a couple of attempts to cover the opening with the painting, but eventually, you’ll get it right.
